But, as someone once said, "A fool can put on his coat better than a wise man can put it on for him." ---- Thomas Sowell Dear Folks,
As already mentioned,
La Papoñita is treating us well, so we will be there again this week at
14:00 (2 pm) on Sunday. The weather is supposed to be better, with no rain in the forecast, so venture out and join us.
Other topics include:
1. The
Mercado Agricola opened on June 29. The old building was gutted, and 107 new stalls have now opened for business. In addition to enjoying the reportedly fantastic old and now completely renovated building, you can purchase all manner of delicious items at the various places, or sit and drink coffee or whatever and enjoy the environment. It is located near the Parliament at Jose L Terra 2220 between José de Amezaga and Martin Garcia, and is open between 8 and 22 (8 am to 10 pm). Check out the Observador newspaper website for a video.
2.
About Eyes: a) If you need
new glasses or contacts or anything to do with your eyes, the recommended place to go, not only because it is much cheaper than other places, is

b)
Doctors from Cuba run and staff an Eye Surgery hospital in Colón called St. Bois, and have done so for years.
They offer surgeries that are otherwise not available in Uruguay, and are much appreciated

A Long-Term Rental in Montevideo is still being sought, and time is really getting short, since it is needed by July 31. Last week, the hope was to find a 3 bedroom place with a fenced yard, but time pressure means that something else would be acceptable. Maybe 2 bedrooms with a garage--because 2 bedrooms is more common that 3 bedrooms. The main point is that a place is needed that is large enough for two people and a dog and all the household goods from the container arriving at the end of July. The seeker is wanting to stay there until a suitable place to buy has been found.
So please help--be creative!
5.
