Consider:
"Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible." ---- Doug Larson Dear Folks,
Things have been going well at
La Papoñita, so, for the foreseeable future, we will be getting together there on 18 de Julio at the corner of Minas every Sunday at 14:00 (2 pm). Of course, this applies to this coming Sunday, June 16th as well, which is Father's Day, in case you forgot. Remember, everyone is welcome, bring a friend, no reservations necessary--just come and join in the conversations.
Further items of possible interest include:
1. Ann-Christine, who will be leaving us shortly, has agreed to give
a bread baking class on Sunday, June 23rd, beginning at 11 am at her home in Pocitos. Bring all the ingredients for the bread you would like to bake, and be set to learn, observe, and teach others what you already know. Given the time required to bake the bread and then let it cool, you can count on coming to the get-together at La Papoñita and then go back to pick up the bread to take it home with you. Please let Ann-Christine know if you would like to participate:

2. And don't
forget the
furniture for sale. The
last day for bidding is June 30, and you can see the descriptions, the measurements, and the pictures in the bulletin from 12.5.2013. If you don't have that one any more, check it out at the website
http://www.explore-uruguay.com/uruguay-info-exchange.html and the past bulletins are all organized in reverse chronological order at the bottom of the page.
3. For those of you worried about
the missing dog, Jax, he
seems to have been found, and the reunion with Pat and Jess is scheduled for Saturday.
4.
Yoga classes are being offered: Charla Cooper is a teacher with 20 years experience, and is offering yoga classes
in English. A flyer is appended, and you can find out more at her website at
www.yogainenglish.wordpress.com For more info, she can be reached at
ccooper495@gmail.com.
5. Get
wine at a discount: Devoto offers
10% off wine bottles if you purchase 6 or more at one time. On Tuesdays, there is
also a 5% discount on everything. The rules appear somewhat unclear, but reports are that, although both are not supposed to be applied at one time, they generally are.
In addition, Devoto offers about a
30% discount on frozen food during the first week of each month. (Frozen wines, anyone??)
More next week.
Cheers, Marita
