Consider:
"Someone sent me an e-mail that summarizes the state of learning in our society: "Fifty years ago, they taught Latin and Greek in high schools. Today, they teach remedial English in colleges." " ---- Butler ShafferWhile it has been said that a delay on my part does not constitute an emergency on yours, in this case, I beg you to regard it as such, since we will be meeting at
Babieca at the Mercado del Puerto on Sunday, and they want an approximate head count on Saturday, and that is already tomorrow.
So please be so kind as to
let me know asap, or at least by Saturday at 1 pm whether we will have the pleasure of your company in the upstairs dining room at Babieca on Sunday, May 5th, at 15:00 (3 pm).
Other topics needing attention include:
1. Last call for
changes and additions to the "List of 3s" about things you are glad you brought with you, things you wish you had brought, and things you found you didn't need.
2. And now said list will be posted on our web site. Which brings to mind that you might have
suggestions for improving the web site, or how to make it easier to navigate, or just anything you might want to see changed. So go to
www.explore-uruguay.comand click on "Meet People", and look around. We are currently discussing where to put the "List of 3s" and other such items of recurring note, such as the fact that Penny would be glad to teach languages (Spanish or English) to anyone interested (let me know of your interest, and I will pass it on), or that Miguel would be happy to take on any home improvement or repairs you want done (not major construction, though--rather smaller projects) (098 607 475).
Maybe if you go to the web site, you might come up with some good ideas on where to put such lists.
3.
Puppies and Kittens--are still available. If you would like pictures, let me know.
4. This is
NOT the week for the Costa Azul meeting on Friday.
Now please
remember to RSVP as to whether you will be coming to Babieca on Sunday--your response is requested by Saturday, May 4th at 13:00 (1 pm).
