Non tropical beaches of Uruguay

Uruguay beaches are NOT tropical. They are Atlantic beaches entirely below the tropical line. However, their long stretches of very fine, white sand are wonderful. And almost the most wonderful thing about them are the sea-side resorts balnearios that have a European flavor in of a New World variety. Some are very reminiscent of those in the French riviera, such as Juan les Pins and Cap Ferrat.
